Surrey Christian School and Fraser Valley Christian High School System Principal
Due to the merging of our two schools, Surrey Christian School and Fraser Valley Christian High School are seeking a System Principal. This is a new position, created to carry out the mission and vision of our newly merged Pre-K - 12 school.
The candidate
The candidate will be a committed, imaginative and creative individual with a strongly rooted life of Christian faith and service, and possessing a solid understanding of the integration of faith and learning. S/he will be a highly seasoned administrator with a passion for and deep understanding of Christian education. Ideally an experienced educator, the candidate will have a related Bachelors and preferably a Masters degree.
S/he will be a recognized leader within a Christian community and be able to articulate a clear and powerful vision for Christian education. Communication and community building skills will be key assets, as will the ability to provide guidance and leadership to the Board and staff of the newly merged school. The candidate will be able to give evidence of an empowering, servant leadership management style, and will be adept at building consensus, excitement and an energized staff and community.
The challenge
The System Principal will build upon and continue the merger processes that have occurred over the past two years. As the lead within the education/management team, and as the primary Board contact, s/he will ensure the mission and vision of the school are carried out, and will guide the school and Board in developing and implementing a long term vision and plan.
Looking for synergies, consistency and continuing improvements in programs, processes and policies across the three campuses, s/he will continue to promote a full school operation and vision, working towards a seamless pre-K - Grade 12 system. In a time of challenging demographics and increasing options for students, s/he will create a context for innovation and boldly establish the school's presence and impact within the community both locally and globally.
The work of the system principal, alongside the senior leadership team, will include government and community relations, as well as building networks within the Christian education community, as well as development. S/he will provide skilled administrative leadership, streamlining and strengthening systems and processes and ensuring the continuing improvement of educational programs and extracurricular activities.

Founded in 1941, The Scott Mission is a non-denominational Christian organization responding to the needs of the poor, homeless, abandoned and vulnerable of all ages. Based in Toronto, the Mission offers practical, emotional and spiritual support for thousands of people each year. Bridges to New Life Society Volunteer/Client Development Coordinator
Duties overview: Manage client case portfolios; facilitate client development and interpersonal relations with clients, as well as coordinate Client/Volunteer Discipleship program. Duties & responsibilities will evolve as this new position develops.
Purpose: To improve and expand Bridges one to one volunteer/client interaction with the goal of becoming more intentional about setting and accomplishing goals that will move both parties toward becoming all they can be in Christ.
Tasks
To learn, become proficient with and improve the tools Bridges uses to case manage its clients and workers (a one year process)
Be available for in office one to one counseling
Build personal relationships with clients & volunteers
Assist with Bridges bookkeeping
Minister to offenders by becoming involved in their personal lives (take out for coffee, counseling, filling out forms, providing transportation, etc.)
Regular visitation at Safe House, particularly on weekend evenings 8-12pm
Urine test & evict errant Safe House residents
Visit federal halfway houses at 4:30 pm for meals at least 2x per week
Maintain accurate records of all contact info in Bridges database.
Coordinate, train, supervise and encourage Bridges volunteers for the effective case management of clients in the field
Encourage and improve regular volunteer record keeping and reporting
Maintain an accurate and intentional case management file for every client who comes to Bridges Kelowna Complex, including Safe House residents
Provide transportation for offenders' appointments, food bank, social & recreational events, Overcomers' and church etc., delivery of furniture)
Assist with organizing & promoting Bridges services & activities to clients & volunteers
Work with Director to plan events, delegate tasks and supervise activities, ensuring safety and success.
Affirm, encourage & value clients' and volunteers' input and suggestions
Perform some building maintenance and cook occasional suppers for Safe House Residents
Record Bridges events via video camera and create quality promotional video

Custodian

Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Housing Facilities, the Tenant Relations Worker is responsible for forming positive, productive and professional relationships with tenants and recruiting and supervising volunteers at Maurice McElrea Place (Vancouver), The Orchard (Surrey) and other facilities as they become available. Under the supervision of this position, volunteers perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities. The Tenant Relations Worker ensures tasks are carried out effectively, and that all safety protocols are adhered to. Assisting tenants by connecting them to a variety of appropriate services is also part of this role. In addition, the Tenant Relations Worker provides biblical counseling and develops and implements programs and activities for residents and their families.
Skill Set

A minimum of high school graduation is required, and related post-secondary education would be an asset. With effective communication skills, and a personable and professional manner, you understand that good service is also about solid relationships. You have a solid, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and are comfortable giving biblically-based counseling. Brightwood Ranch is a Christian camp providing a summer camp experience for underprivileged children and youth from Edmonton. Summer positions are paid and include room and board. Positions include:

Key Responsibilities:
To provide referral to appropriate agencies as needed.
To ensure that all telephone calls are answered in a proper, polite and helpful manner and messages are taken when necessary.
To follow all instructions concerning the Pro Bono service protocols
To screen telephone calls, and schedule appointments; provide other related administrative work
To attend court daily with prepared court list provided by court clerk; to respond to court requests for The Salvation Army and provide support services to facilitate housing, clothing, transportation, and community referrals
To provide courtroom support to the sheriff, court registry, defense counsel and crown counsel: including follow-up information to the court from community inquiries (e.g. bail requirements such as surety, employment verification, residential verification etc.)
To follow all instructions and protocols concerning the Vancouver Provincial Courts
To perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12; Supplementary law-related courses would be an asset
Strong Communication skills both orally and in writing
Knowledge of the Canadian Justice System.
Knowledge of working in a law-related environment
Knowledge base of Government legal service programs and other legal service providers.
A proven ability to deal effectively with people.
A proven ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
Ability to refer client's legal matters appropriately and effectively

Working closely with the director of Donor Relations to write, edit and coordinate through to design all donor-related communication pieces, such as direct mail fundraising packages, gift acknowledgement letters and donor newsletters

You bring at least three years of professional writing experience, preferably in the areas of direct mail, grant writing, public relations, business communications and/or marketing. With an excellent command of the English language, you are able to demonstrate superior writing, editing and oral communication skills, with the ability to write for multiple audiences. You thrive in an environment that allows you to work independently while managing multiple projects, has strict timelines and requires you to produce a high volume of written work.
Success in this position is dependent upon strong organizational, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church Pastor to Families and Children
Overview:
The Pastor to Families and Children will provide pastoral support for young families and leadership to the Children's ministry.
Position:
This is a full-time salaried position.
Qualifications:
A clear biblical philosophy of inter-generational ministry and leadership.
A clear calling to full-time, church ministry, knowing God has gifted you to pastor families.
Significant church or Para-church experience working within a Family and Children's ministry context.
Willing to abide by the constitution of Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church (Hereafter, PFBC), the Statement of Faith of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptists in BC and Yukon, and follow the leadership of the elders and deacons.
Seminary degree preferred, Bible college degree accepted.

Overall responsibility:
The overall responsibility of the Pastor to Families and Children is to provide pastoral leadership to young families within the church and to impact families in the community through creative networks of social and spiritual opportunities. The Pastor to Families and Children will also provide comprehensive leadership to the ministry to children from birth up to and including grade 5.
Specific Responsibilities:
A. Encourage and assist families in their spiritual journey and help families assimilate into the church body.
1 Provide pastoral leadership to families in PFBC.
2 Expand our present ministry to families to include opportunities to educate, support, and connect the parents of the children within this ministry area.
3 Provide pastoral care to the families at PFBC: (including but not limited to the following)
Meet the spiritual needs of young married and parents with children in Kidz Ministry.
Encourage relationships among existing and new parents of children connected to the Kidz ministry. Provide educational opportunities (retreats, adult classes, etc) for this group.
Enhance relationship building opportunities for young families connected with PFBC.
B. Shepherd and provide direction for volunteers involved in the children's ministry.
Minister to the spiritual needs of our children through weekend, midweek, and seasonal activities, equip gifted teachers to instruct our children, and giving special attention to the selection or development of a bible-saturated curriculum that is consistent with our statement of faith.
Continue to develop a volunteer leadership team who will serve as a leadership structure for the children's ministry.
Provide intentional regular communication, primarily with parents, through a variety of means: web-based; emails; face-book, etc.
Develop and maintain an appropriate ministry budget.
Review, update and maintain appropriate ministry manuals (nursery, security, emergency).

You will be responsible for managing all the financial needs of two privately owned investment holding companies with significant worldwide investments. You will be working in a small office environment with two or three other people.

Thus, you will also be responsible for the financial management of a number of charities/non-profit entities that have been established by the owners. Position Requirements:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Support the owners with investment decisions by providing thorough reporting and data analysis. This will often involve the production of ad-hoc financial reports on short notice.
Act as a representative for the companies in dealing with third parties such as banks, mortgage companies, accounting firms and other external entities.
Work closely with external Tax advisors to assist in domestic and international tax planning and tax reporting.
Preparation of monthly financial reporting package.
Responsible for Full Cycle Accounting.
Develop and implement controls to safeguard assets.
Manage and maintain accurate records of various investments including equities, real estate and other investment products.
Qualifications:
Accounting Designation.
At least 3 years experience in a senior accounting role.
Familiarity with various financial market products is a definite asset.
