I spent the month of May traveling throughout
Southeast Asia. It turns out May was quite a month for Asia: two major
disasters hit the region.
First, there was the cyclone which devastated Burma
(Myanmar); and then the massive earthquake in Sichuan, China – which
shook the place where I was staying in Northern Thailand.
These events are difficult to understand; but there
must be a response on our part, as followers of Christ, when disasters like
this unfold.
A friend working in Burma confirmed what we know to be
true: that smaller, highly mobile agencies like Asian Outreach are able to
get relief in quickly to the most desperate areas. This is especially true
in a place like Burma, where authorities did not readily accept outside
assistance.
I have been watching footage from both of these areas,
and can’t imagine what it must be like for those affected by these
tragedies.
Asian Outreach is on the ground – linking with
local partners, which are positioned to help with both the Burma cyclone
and China earthquake relief. It is encouraging to read the reports of
relief and support happening in both of these countries.
Please consider how you can make a difference in Burma
and China. The local church in both countries is an integral part of the
relief process.
They are on the ground working hard, to help those
most affected by the tragedies. Join us in standing alongside them.

Dear Workers,
Greetings to you in our Savior's name from Burma. Most of people in
Burma are Buddhists, and six percent is Christian. Like this country
God had given me the privilege and responsibility of reaching the
Gospel and witnessing for Christ those yet without Jesus Christ, and
to kick off Christ's Great Commission Ministry. My co-workers in Christ
, God is a wonderful God and a working God, He wants you to enlarge
His kingdom around the world. As Go chose me nine years ago from
non-Christians, I realized that He wants us to cooperate with
Christians as He chose disciples to go together in the same message of
Jesus Christ around the world for the spreading this: he loves sinners
and saved from the bondage of sin. As the government hinders
Christians not to worship at home, so, the tactic I use is to go and
befriend with household members and then tell about the Savior of the
all the people in the world. Going to house to house is my new tactic.
Many household members had been heard about the Gospel. I do p0ray
that the Holy Spirit will illuminate you in your heart and mind to
have a burning desire more than I wrote.
God chose me from non-Christian family to go and make disciples to
disciples, be a witness of the world's Savior Jesus Christ and a
burning desire to
speak out for Him from house to house for evangelizing. God had
equipped me to carry out Christ's Great Commission task with both an
offensive and a defensive weapon and with boldness for my spiritual
battle. God always provides me a strength to stand for His kingdom
extension, and gives me to be strong and of good courage for spreading
the Gospel, and Home Churches Planting in the whole Myanmar. I put my
trust in God to be effective in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To
make non-Christians see the Light of God, walk in the Truth and make
them have eternal life, are my greatest burning desire. I have been
trying to sow the gospel seed in people's heart. The purpose of this, I
have been sowing the seed in their heart on the streets, taxis, buses,
markets, and every places . I do hope that my gospel message will appear
in one day
and grow in their hearts. They will imagine what I had told about the
Savior of the world, who bore the sins of the world. I need your
help in any ways such as prayer and materials. If God opens a new door
for you , I would like to request you to cooperate or partner with
your ministry in Myanmar in the near future. If possible, show me and
guide me any ways to work together or partnership with you or to be
a part of your Church or Ministry in Myanmar.
You are warmly welcome and invited to come and conduct seminary in
Myanmar if God allows you .
We have an orphanage home as well as Light for Life Literature. If you
have tracts or booklets for translating into Myanmar, send us for
spreading His kingdom.
I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
God's richest blessings,
Michael Naing ( Pastor )
