Imagine yourself in a prison, as you prepare to begin
monthly visits with a prisoner.
Imagine yourself again, in a ‘circle’ of
volunteers – working intensely with a high-risk sex offender, who has
just been released into the community.
Imagine, finally, being a friend to a mom who is
socially isolated, unaware of community resources and possessing little
means of accessing them.
M2/W2 trains volunteers to work with people in all of
the above situations. One Volunteer Coordinator recently heard from a
female prisoner: “I can face doing more time. What I can’t face
is getting out again.”
A recently released prisoner wrote of her volunteer
friend: “My saving grace was Grace, who never left my side – so
that I could heal and patch my wings.”
Come join us, if the Spirit so nudges. Not for the
faint-hearted – but for those with eagles’ wings!
