“You can take a picture of a starving
child in the Third World, but you can’t capture a famished heart in
Europe,” a British pastor says. “Focused on the needs in
places like Indonesia, I didn’t see Europe as a mission field until I
experienced it firsthand. God revealed Europeans’ hungry hearts when
I spent a year teaching in northeastern France. Among the 1,700 students, I
didn’t know a single Christian. In fact, there were only about eight
church-attending Christians in the city of 10,000.”
The need of Europe is great. Europe officially now
encompasses almost 30 countries, and more than 720 million people. In
most countries, less than one percent are evangelical Christians; yet God
is at work in the heart of Europeans.
Greater Europe Mission is committed to assist the
peoples of Europe in building up the body of Christ, so that every person
is within reach of a witnessing fellowship of believers.
