Disciple Making International (DMI), a program of MBMS
International, is a short term outreach opportunity
DMI gathers together cross-generational teams of 8
– 15 people, and sends them to various countries – to help
overseas churches do outreach evangelism. A typical DMI campaign consists
of two weeks of person-to-person outreach – with the weekends given
to attending the national church services, and sightseeing.
In the past 15 years, some 350 teams have gone out to
about 30 different countries, with great results.
Upon arriving in a country, the DMI teams are paired
up with national Christians who take them into villages or cities to do
one-on-one and door-to-door evangelism.
The teams have been trained in presenting their
testimonies – and sharing the gospel, from the scriptures which
explain God’s salvation offer.
At the end of the visit, those who have heard the
testimony and gospel presentation are invited to become followers of Jesus.
The national churches involved then do the follow-up
– and seek to incorporate the new converts into the church, or
arrange for a new church to be planted.
