Columbia Bible College Columbia Bible College

Columbia Bible College seeks to instill a strong disciple-making priority into the hearts and souls of all our students. We believe mission flows out of a commitment to Jesus Christ, and a desire to reach out to the world around us just as he did.

The mission major at Columbia is called the Intercultural Studies program.

Depending on what they are looking for, students can register for either a two-year diploma designed to assist students in preparation for a bivocational or 'tentmaking' missions career; or a four-year Bachelor of Arts in the Intercultural Studies degree.

Both programs are designed to provide students with an understanding of the church's mission in the world; but the four-year program has the added dimension of a year-long cross-cultural internship.

The first two years at Columbia prepare students for their internship. Students grow stronger in faith and biblical knowledge, and start to understand different cultures.

Then, to enable students to learn outside of the classroom, we have included an eight- to 10-month mentored cross-cultural ministry component into our four-year Bachelor of Arts Intercultural Studies major.

"I'm so grateful for my time at Columbia Bible College, where I've learned about missions both in class and 'on the field.' Because of my experience in Africa during my third year cross-cultural internship, and because of my time being taught and mentored by staff and faculty here, I feel both prepared and excited to step into full-time ministry overseas."
