Christians in conservation . . .

A Rocha is a Christian organization working to show God's love for all creation.

Our name is Portuguese for 'the Rock,' as our first initiative was a field study centre in Portugal. We now work in 16 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North and South America, and Asia.

Creation care is a practical way to express our worship of God, the Creator and Redeemer. A Rocha Canada cares for creation in a variety of ways - from habitat restoration and wildlife surveys to environmental education for school kids and theological conferences with partners like Regent College, Trinity Western University and Canadian Mennonite University.

A Rocha projects are about restoration - of fish and wildlife habitat, certainly, but also of all levels of relationship: between people, creation and the Creator.

We are committed to long-term, local projects which have positive impacts for both wildlife and people. In all of this, participants gain an understanding of the relevance Christian faith has for conservation and for everyday life.

We welcome people to join in our work at our Field Study Centres in Surrey, British Columbia and the Pembina Valley of southern Manitoba. For more information, contact us at www.arocha.org or canada@arocha.org.
