Africa Inland Mission
Africa Inland Mission
Bed sheets soaked in sweat. A fever. Incessant coughing. Victims of 'slim' are physically spent before others begin noticing their disease-wracked bodies.
Last year, 4.3 million people were infected with HIV - more new cases than ever before. Sub-Saharan Africa remains the epicentre of the pandemic, home to nine out of 10 children living in with the virus.
"We have the opportunity, we have the freedom to share Christ," says Isaac Mutua, who directs an AIDS outreach program in rural Kenya. In partnership with AIM, Mutua and his team of volunteers teach school children the truth about HIV/AIDS, from a biblical perspective.
Today you can help sponsor a grandmother who is often the last provider for children orphaned by AIDS. By helping her buy a cellphone and some airtime, a 'payphone lady' can sell airtime to anyone needing a phone.
