Young adults called to prayer
The National House of Prayer (NHOP) in Ottawa has issued a 'Nazarite call' to adults between the ages of 18 and 35, to set aside 4 - 6 months to intercede for Canada. "For over a year now I have been burdened to see the level of prayer increase across our nation," said Rob Parker of the NHOP. "We are praying that those whom God will call will be ready to be with us at the National House of Prayer for the beginning of March." NHOP is planning two weeks of intensive training after which they will assign different prayer-watches, both at NHOP and in Parliament.
Christians apply for FM station in Vancouver
The Canadian Radio and Television Commission (CRTC) will consider an application February 26 by In-House Communications requesting a license for a Christian radio station based in Vancouver. In-House says it is one of 16 applicants competing for the last viable FM frequency. Many Praise 106 listeners in the Lower Mainland were negatively affected when the CRTC granted a license to the Aboriginal Radio Network for use of 106.3, on the channel adjacent to Praise 106. Vancouver is the largest community in Canada that doesn't have a Christian radio station originating in Canada, said In-House. The proposed station '104.1 Refine FM' will play predominantly Contemporary Christian Music aimed at complementing Praise 106 with a younger audience in mind.

New Anglican Church Movement grows
The Convocation of Anglicans in North America (CANA) has welcomed 10 new congregations into its membership. Francis R. Lyons, the Bishop of Bolivia, commended these US Anglican congregations and their clergy to the oversight of CANA Missionary Bishop Martyn Minns. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with these churches that have been blessed by the leadership in Bolivia and will continue to be blessed by the Holy Spirit. CANA is eager to welcome them on their Christ-centered and faithful mission to serve God and to honour the worldwide Anglican Communion," said Minns. Originally under the ecclesiastical leadership of the Church of Bolivia, the 10 US congregations were given CANA oversight "with a profound desire to promote unity in Jesus Christ which issues from his reconciling work on the Cross and an abiding trust in the power of God's Word written, and with a genuine commitment to support the emerging ecclesiastical structure of faithful Anglicans in North America," said Lyons. -- Anglican Mainstream
