Review: Teenagers more moral, less religious, says new survey

Comments

It would be interesting to know where these surverys were taken. For example were the surveys done in one province or accross the country. What percentage of the persons surveyed were from a rural school and what percentage were from a city school and would this make a differenc in their answeres.
Interesting article.

I agree with Helena. More detailed information on the breakdowns, even if not in the article, would be very interesting to look at.

"Nonetheless, almost two-thirds of Millennials said that "what's right or wrong is a matter of personal opinion."

That is NOT what any thinking atheist believes; that is what SOME (not all) Christians believe because they don't think humans are even capable of understanding morality and that it needs to originate from a celestial dictator.

They think that morality consists of blind obedience to a series of inexplicable commandments from an unproven, unseen, supernatural entity
-- and THIS they define as "objective".

The mind boggles.

The results do not surprise me. The origins of morals I believe will always be debated. I feel we are slowly moving towards a more secular social environment. The "true believers" will always be here but I feel there will become more marginalized. The move towards a more secular world is a healthy thing. Let us debate with reason and logic rather than the argument ending statement, it is god's will. Some readers may find this article interesting. Looks at religion and dysfunctionalitty
within various states.
