Prairie
Prairie

Three Hills, AB

Prairie began 86 years ago. Much has changed over the years, but the mission has remained clear. Having sent more than 14,000 alumni to 110 countries, and occupying a campus which spans more than 40 acres, Prairie now attracts students from more than 20 countries.

Prairie is comprised of three colleges: Prairie Bible College; Prairie College of Applied Arts & Technology; and Prairie School of Mission Aviation.

Prairie Bible College began in 1922, and is Canada’s oldest Bible College. It specializes in training qualified and effective workers for churches and other Christian ministries – both at home and around the world.

It offers accredited Bachelor of Arts programs in a variety of areas, including Youth Ministry, Pastoral Ministry, Worship Ministry and Intercultural Studies. Prairie also offers experiential one-year programs, within a wilderness or intercultural context.

Prairie recently opened the first college in Canada created to deliver two-year vocational programs in conjunction with Christian higher education.

Prairie College of Applied Arts & Technology offers Practical Nursing, Health Care Aide, Early Learning and Child Care (ECE), and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) programs.

Coming soon are programs in land and water resource management, disaster response and communications. Students graduate with a two-year Associate of Arts, which contains courses in Bible and theology, as well as a provincially recognized diploma in their chosen vocational field from a partnering college.

In a recent audit Transport Canada indicated that our aviation students score higher on their flight tests and written exams, compared to students at other Transport Canada licensed facilities across the nation. Our desire is to continue to offer excellent mission aviation training. To ensure this, the program is now offered through the newly created Prairie School of Mission Aviation.
