“You are what you eat.” This phrase was
shortened from a statement first made in 1826: “Tell me what you eat,
and I will tell you what you are.”
It gives us the idea that to be fit and healthy, you
need to eat good food. Many people eat a specialized menu in order to get
their body into the right shape for a marathon or an Olympic activity.
While this is true of the human body, the same idea is
true of the human spirit. Those who neglect their spirit by failing to
care for it or feed it will find themselves spiritually malnourished.
Nibbling on spiritual ‘snacks’ will not
provide the real fulfillment the spirit needs. The human spirit needs to be
fed a good, wholesome and regular diet of truth from the Holy Spirit.
The vision of Millar College of the Bible is to
develop passionate, relevant servants of Jesus Christ who are shaped by the
entire scriptures. At Millar, we’re seeking God’s heart, in the
heart of Canada.
