The King's University College
Edmonton, AB
The King's University College is a Christian school committed to academic excellence, exceptional value, campus safety and security, development of the whole person, high employment potential and vibrant student life options.
But what, exactly, is Christian university education? Is The King's a Bible school? No. A seminary? Again, no.
The King's University College offers fully accredited bachelor degrees in the arts and sciences from a Christian perspective. The King's integrates general knowledge and the values of faith, challenging students to examine real-world questions through their Christian convictions, attitudes and ideals.
How does this work? The King's curriculum begins, not with a desire to prove the existence of God, but with the conviction that God exists.
Seeing that God is in harmony with all disciplines (whether science, art, history or philosophy), knowledge enhances faith, and faith enhances knowledge.
Additionally, at The King's the curriculum is intentionally interdisciplinary, meaning that all fields work together and nothing is studied in isolation, stemming from a belief that this reflects the Creator's design.
Courses such as the History of Biology, Business and the Environment, or the Sociology of Art demonstrate this approach to the interrelation of all things.
As well, activities inside and outside the classroom are designed to encourage students to examine real world issues from a Christian perspective, and to become agents of social transformation, impacting the world through Christian tenets such as justice, peace and love.
