Vancouver recording artist Laurell has won the grand
prize in the independent artist search sponsored by inDiscover.net. The win
not only provides Laurell with a cash prize of $10,000, but also includes
invaluable exposure through Bell Canada and Sympatico/MSN’s
extensive media network.
Laurell won over the judges, beating out hundreds of
other independent artists and bands for the coveted title. “This is
such an exciting time for me,” says Laurell. “It seems all the
pieces are finally coming together, and this win is a great part of
that.”
An outspoken Christian, this newest award can be
placed alongside the growing list of Laurell’s accomplishments. She
recently won the ‘We Are Listening’ Singer/Songwriter of the
Year award, and was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award for
Outstanding Pop Album for her most recent release, Fears Aside.
