University Week at Camp is a great way to wrap up your
summer and get ready for your fall semester, whichever university or
college you study at.
This year, the camp is held August 28 – September
2 at its regular venue of Green Bay Bible Camp, right on the lake in
Kelowna, in British Columbia’s beautiful Okanagan.
“University Week at Camp is a high point for many
students,” says Jonathan Barkowsky, Summer Sessions director, who
coordinates the program.
“Unlike a lot of other camp experiences,
University Week at Camp gives students the opportunity to earn credits and
also have a great time of recreation,” Barkowsky notes. Students can
choose from one of five popular courses.
Former University Week at Camp students are very
enthusiastic about their experience.
“University Week at Camp totally changed my
life,” says Edwin Hauris. “I was surprised to see eight bunk
beds in the guys’ tiny cabins on the first day, only to find myself
wanting to stay for a full semester at the camp instead of one
week.”
Stephanie Sylvain terms her experience as a
“phenomenal week at camp,” and adds: “I had planned to go
there and just study, not thinking I would meet many people.
“The camp is absolutely beautiful, and the staff
are incredibly friendly, approachable, and so excited to make our week
memorable. I totally enjoyed getting to know them.”
“Students who are interested in joining us this
summer for University Week at Camp should let me know before the end of
July,” Barkowsky says. “It is definitely a popular program, so
I would encourage people to get in touch and reserve a spot as soon as
possible.”
