We major in personal spiritual formation, academic excellence and practical ministry training. Courses and subjects are integrated with Christian character development.

Spiritual devotion is transferred into real hands-on ministry in our world. Innovative approaches to curriculum at Horizon include a combination of semester-long courses and one-week modules at the beginning of each semester.

In the modules, active practitioners share expertise from their fields of ministry: Evangelism is taught by a church planter whose congregation has grown to 500 people;  Rural Ministry is taught by experienced rural pastors who are making a dynamic impact on their communities; Cross-cultural communication is taught by a veteran missionary who still spends half his time ministering in countries of Africa.

You have a wide range of choices at Horizon:

• Four-year BA or BTh degrees – majors in Pastoral Theology, Youth Ministries and other specialties.

• One- and two-year certificates, for personal Christian development and university transfer credit.

• A Global Missions Force program in cooperation with YWAM (Youth With A Mission).

The Internship program dedicates an entire college year (eight months) to ministry in a local church or other field of service. Our mentorship model ensures a close developmental supervision of interns by experienced pastors.

Horizon’s roots are on the prairies. We are committed to being connected to the unique needs of smaller and rural churches. We are also an urban-based college with relevant programs for new and emerging ministry trends.
