Committed to building healthy leaders for the development of healthy Christian communities, SSU’s ministry programs are exceptional, engaging the whole person.

Come discover rich training grounds for individuals wishing to devote their lives to ministry and missions, either in or outside of the church. SSU offers several ways forward – from diploma level (for mature students without prior degree) to the Master of Ministry degree.

Distinctives of the program include: an ancient-future perspective, gained through discussing both classical Christian writers and contemporary voices; mentoring relationships; and a trans-denominational approach, with respect for traditional, contemporary and emerging forms of church leadership – all presented in round-table, small class settings.

SSU’s Ministry Program offers an intentional blend of serious academic work, practical training and personal spiritual formation – providing an excellent foundation to prepare students for a lifetime of serving God, in the church and in the world.

Dare to take the walls off the classroom.

Discover the rich history of ancient Pompeii in class; then make those pages come to life – by setting foot in its ruins.  Whether it is a lecture in Venice, a class in Paris or a discussion in Bangkok, St. Stephen’s University is unlike any other.

Located in New Brunswick, SSU welcomes students into a unique trans-denominational Christian community.  SSU offers Bachelor of Arts degrees with a classic humanities focus, as well as new programs in International Studies, Worship Studies & Spiritual Formation and Ministry studies.

Studying in a small class setting amidst historic walls only adds to the unique charm that is SSU. Students live and learn in a Christian academic context, resurrecting a sense of community that is all but lost in our culture today.

Arguably the most popular aspect of the program is the travel-study component. Students spend two terms overseas with their class as part of their degree – one in Western Europe and one in South East Asia.

These travel terms highlight SSU’s desire for students to experience an integrated education, by combining classroom knowledge with cultural exposure.
