canadianchristianity.com email interview with Doug Cryer, director of public policy for The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada

What are the most important moral issues that the church will be wrestling with in the next few years? Are we still wrestling with issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage, or are those battles over? What can and should the church be doing in these areas?

Key issues will include euthanasia, religious freedom, poverty and homelessness, to name a few. There is also a growing interest among Evangelicals regarding creation care and environmental stewardship.

Our deep respect for and commitment to the sanctity of human life, care for the vulnerable, marriage and family, and religious freedom will prompt our engagement on a range of issues, and will include the continued promotion of the uniqueness and importance of marriage, as a covenant between a woman and a man. As well, we will continue to press for protection for unborn children.
