IT’S coming!

An event calling upon young people and youth pastors to share what God is doing in the Greater Vancouver Regional District will be hosted at Glad Tidings Church in Vancouver on April 18.

Youth pastor and co-organizer Ben Woodman is hoping the event will bring people together in more ways than one.

“We’re hoping it will spark a movement of unity and cooperation – or fuel a movement that is already there – amongst the youth and the pastors,” he said.

The affair will be drawing already existing networks of churches together to create a ‘network of networks.’

Woodman said the event sprang out of one simple thought: “What if we really accomplished something together?”

This is the second ONE event to happen in the Lower Mainland, and Woodman hopes there will be more.

“I’m looking forward to a third ONE and a fifth ONE and another ONE! We’re hoping there will always be ONE.”

The theme of this year’s event is ‘Beyond Your Skin’ – with an emphasis on prayer. Students will be encouraged to pray for their schools and their friends.

‘ONE – II’ is a one-night rally which will likely draw anywhere from 500 to 1,500 young people.

The evening will start off with worship music performed by a band made up of people from all the churches involved.

“We try to keep it local, and there is a real emphasis this year on multi-ethnicity,” Woodman said.

Doors for the event open at 6:30 pm, with an official start time of 7.
