Imago gives art a face

'Till We Have Faces' is an exhibition and series of events around the theme of the human face sponsored by Imago. The face "is the primary locus for our relationships with others" and therefore "the icon of our individuality and uniqueness as well as essential for community," says Imago. The art exhibition will take place at the Toronto School of Theology October 27 - November 14; panel discussions will be held at St. Michael's College November 4; and Roberta Ahmanson of the Fieldstead Institute will deliver a public lecture on 'The Human Face in the History of Western Art' at St. Michael's College November 5.

Tyndale seeks new president

Brian C. Stiller, who has served as President and CEO of Tyndale University College & Seminary since 1995, will retire in June 2009. The Tyndale Board of Governors has created a Presidential Search Committee to search for a new president.

Posterski's new chair

Internationally known Christian leader, speaker and author Don Posterski will fill the R. J. Bernardo Family Chair of Leadership at Tyndale Seminary for the coming academic year. The endowed chair, one of the few of its kind in North American theological schools, aims to raise the bar of excellence in Christian leadership in the church, the marketplace, and the public sphere. Posterski has held the position of Research Professor of Christianity and Culture at the seminary since 2004. He recently completed 17 years of distinguished service as a senior executive with World Vision. His background also includes pastoral ministry and 16 years on the leadership staff of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.

Mennonites visit Iran

A delegation from six American and Canadian Mennonite universities visited Iran October 4 - 10 to explore opportunities for academic collaboration with Iranian universities. According to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), which organized the trip, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Iranian educators and students and encouraged to pursue further interactions with Iranian universities. Proposals include professor and student exchanges, academic conferences, joint research projects and video-conferencing between Iranian and North American students. Iranian university officials expressed particular interest in academic exchanges related to peace, justice, conflict and religion, according to several members of the delegation.

New Bible released

Tyndale House Publishers has released its New Living Translation Study Bible in print, online and in three electronic versions. This is the first study Bible to be released simultaneously not only in print but also in a fully searchable online version along with formats in WordSearch, PocketBible and Logos. Each Bible package includes a user code for full access to the online features.

Canadian Foodgrains' 25th

Canadian Foodgrains Bank is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Founded in 1983, as an expansion of the Mennonite Central Committee's Food Bank, the CFB has delivered more than $500 million in programming in 76 countries around the world. -- Canadian Mennonite

Immigration support still happening

Zoar Mennonite Church in Waldheim , Saskatchewan, is sponsoring five Colombian families to come to Canada. The families are related to another eight-member family the church brought to Canada two years ago. The families are coming in under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, which seeks refugees who have skills needed in Canada. A construction company has offered jobs to members of the five families. -- Canadian Mennonite
