“I AM so proud of the guys,” said Delta
resident Jay Duncan. He was referring to two Ugandans who have developed a
livelihood building guitars, through his DuncanAfrica Society.
Duncan and his wife Irena are going to be in Mpigi,
Uganda from mid-January to May. He will be overseeing the ministry’s
work – which he deems a success, so far.
“The guitars sound really good, and they play
great. They look really good, except for some minor cosmetic
defects.” The instruments have gotten a good response from B.C.
residents. “We’re back-ordered for guitars.”
As a result, he said, “I’m going to be
teaching 12 more people to build guitars.”
