Ten years of Postal service
On December 7, Comox Pentecostal Church celebrated the
10th anniversary of leadership by head pastor Dave Postal and his wife
Barb. Over his time, the congregation has grown – from around 80 to
well over 200. Dave and Barb have led the church into many types of
community service, including: the Block Party, a large scale community
festival; the Family Fun Night, held at the local aquatic centre; and
mobilizing finances toward helping homeless people and single parents.

New Options
A lot more space, a location that is central and a rent
that is actually less – that sounded like a good deal for Options
Pregnancy Centre, so it moved to 855 Caledonia Avenue. Director Stephanie
Timmerman threw a little party for the Centre’s supporters to
celebrate the event. She is excited about a support group starting in
January, for women who are either pregnant or have had a baby.
SALTS extension
For SALTS (Sail and Life Training Society), the
uncertainty of occupancy at its Victoria office, shipyard and berthing area
has been removed for three years at least. The lease with the City of
Victoria, which had been due to expire in November, has been extended to
August, 2011. Contact: www.salts.ca.

Ladysmith’s Billy
They refer to him as Ladysmith’s Billy Graham, so
great is the respect with which Harry Nettleton and his wife are held in
that city. Nettleton was pastor of Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle for 27
years.
After retirement, he took on the role of visitation
pastor. He and wife Beth remain active in the church. Says senior
pastor Rob Bedard: “He is dearly loved, and we are richly blessed to
have him on the team.”
