Power to Change (P2C) has a new resource, which they are offering for the
Olympic Games – in conjunction with More Than Gold. Soul Cravings: the Prequel is a 60-page distillation of Soul Cravings by Erwin Raphael McManus. It is a resource for initiating spiritual
conversations, using topics like intimacy, destiny and meaning in life. BCCN
spoke to P2C leader Leonard Buhler.
BCCN: As you look at P2C’s vision for the future, how does Soul Cravings fit?
Leonard Buhler: It is showing that P2C is adapting. As I looked at the upcoming Games I just
couldn’t see current P2C strategies working. People coming to Christ in one
conversation is generally not working in our culture. One thing that is
different from the past is where we start. We start where they are, not where we want to start.
BCCN: What training do you provide?
LB: The training helps someone with Soul Cravings to understand what people are searching for. We want to connect people’s current realities to God, and not be rigid with a ‘contractual’ type of transaction.
BCCN: How has it gone?
LB: The trainings have gone extremely well. We have 40,000 copies printed, and have
distributed around 10,000.
BCCN: How has being part of the More Than Gold initiative impacted you personally?
LB: I’ve really enjoyed working with other groups like the Salvation Army, The Roman Catholic Church, Billy Graham Evangelistic
Association. I loved the One Voice prayer conference. The Soul Cravings approach is a beautiful bridge to the Alpha Course. I have a passion for
evangelism, but I see others having passion for other areas of ministry, as we
all see God.

BCCN: How will Soul Cravings help non-believers comprehend the Christian message?
LB: On a scale of -10 to +10, there used to be more of a Christian heritage. But
today things are more secularized; it’s more like -6 to -8. So the message has to be different. Soul Cravings contains a message that engages a population that is more distant from God, and
shows them the benefits of God.
Soul Cravings sessions can be found under ‘Events,’ at MoreThanGold.ca.
