AFTER ‘retiring’ from a lifetime of teaching and pastoral ministry, Dick and Susan Driedger of
Langley are launching a new ministry.
Foundations For Living is a curriculum designed to encourage lay people to
evangelize and disciple. The origins of the new ministry lie in the Ralph and
Lou Sutera revival in Saskatoon in 1971-72.
Recently returned from missionary service in Europe, Dick and Susan were on
staff at University Drive Alliance Church.
They were given the task of developing classes to disciple the 100 new
Christians in the church, and to help newly revived Christians make disciples.
After they moved to Chilliwack Alliance Church, they concluded the literature
they were using did not adequately deal with the concept of being filled with
the Holy Spirit.
So Dick began writing his own curriculum.
The Foundations For Living curriculum has now grown to a graded series of five
12-week manuals; a leaders’ training manual; and four Bible Book studies (Joshua, Matthew, Hebrews and
Revelation).
The Bible book studies are based on a philosophy of “teaching by asking, learning by searching and growing by obeying.”
