ONE in three Canadians know someone with Alzheimer’s disease. Who do you know who’s been affected by this phenomenon?
Here’s a chance to show them your support – by registering to participate in the Investors Group Walk for Memories, in
support of the Alzheimer Society of B.C.
Happening in 20 communities around B.C., the Walk raises funds for people in our
community who are living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.
In Surrey, the Walk is scheduled to take place at Eaglequest Golf at Coyote
Creek January 31, as part of National Alzheimer Awareness Month.

This Walk honours Langley resident Doug McMorland. He has been an active member
of the Alzheimer’s Society’s Early Stage support groups in Langley and Surrey, and his sense of humour has
definitely encouraged others in his support groups to also have a positive
outlook.
The Walk will include a range of family entertainment, and will feature a
welcome message from the society’s honorary provincial chair Mark Madryga, Global TV’s senior meteorologist.
Currently, more than 70,000 British Columbians are living with dementia.
Startling new data recently released by the Alzheimer Society shows that if
nothing changes, the prevalence of dementia in B.C. could more than double in
the next 30 years.
