A PRIMARY goal of Christian education is for students to discuss the various topics in their courses, and come to understand them from a biblical perspective.

Pacific Academy (PA) is one of the many Christian schools dedicated to ensuring students are developing a Christian worldview within the subjects they teach.

An essential aspect of following Christ involves serving others. Outreach is a major emphasis.

This is clearly demonstrated by the words from Mark 9: 35, which have been inscribed on the wall in the entrance to the school:

“Whoever would be greatest must be least – and the servant of all.”

PA seeks to provide varied opportunities for students of all ages to serve within the local and global communities. The youngest students at Pacific Academy are introduced to the importance of reaching out to the local community.

Even pre-kindergarten students gather diapers and baby formula for the Stepping Stones ministry to single mothers, and primary students visit seniors’ care homes every week.  These primary students also raise money to sponsor children at Kibaale Community School in Uganda, and pray consistently for this global project.

Another exciting opportunity for PA students to experience global citizenship is the Summit program offered to junior high students. This outdoor education program encourages spiritual growth by challenging students physically on extended backpacking trips. Participants are expected to spend time alone with God in prayer; and they are directed to keep journals.

This program also emphasizes responsible environmental stewardship, because it is important for students to consider a holistic approach to service – which includes an environmental perspective. Summit is a valuable learning experience in this regard.

High school students partner with local organizations like NightShift to reach out to needy people in the immediate community, and also work with global partners as a part of our overseas Outreach program.

This year, PA teams will serve in a variety of ways in 10 international destinations.  These short term mission trips will expose our students to the many needs around the globe, and continue to develop in them an attitude of service.

We want each student at Pacific Academy to develop a desire to serve others – so that each one of them can obey Christ’s command to love their neighbours.
