IN 1988, some families at Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church committed themselves to providing quality education, which would integrate their children’s entire school experience into a Christian worldview.

As more families embraced this vision, Parksville Christian School was moved to the old Nanoose Elementary School property, and renamed Beacon Christian School (BCS).

Now, 20 years later, Beacon continues to develop more programs to meet the needs of their families. The parent-run board has recently put together a three – five year strategic plan to assist in moving forward into the future.

This year, projects include redesigning the school branding and signage, piloting a program to provide education to students beyond grade 8, developing a structured intramural and sports program, increased industrial arts and home economics courses, and a comprehensive library program.

Implementing these programs is just another step toward the pursuit of academic excellence and spiritual maturity.

BCS has a 20-year history of providing high academic standards and a caring environment, continually revealing the Christian worldview to students.

Contrary to some views, Christian education is not an effort to remove children from the culture, protecting them from any negative influences. Instead, we are seeking to educate our children to know that God applies to all of life.
