I CAME to Nanaimo Christian School (NCS) in 2007, believing God would provide funds for our new school – as well as for building a development department.

I am in awe at having the privilege of seeing these young people receive an education according to the word of God – taught by fine teachers, who love Christ.  

I am thankful for our founding community, which established our school two decades ago.

We are the inheritors of their faith, sacrifice, time and efforts.  I marvel at their step of faith, and the biblical heritage we have received.

Deuteronomy 6 tells us we are to fix God’s words in our hearts and minds; tie them onto us as symbols; write them on the doorframes of our houses – and teach them to our children, talking about the Lord first thing in the morning, during the day and before we go to bed.  

The scriptures are full of the heart of God. Christian education is his idea.  

Are we challenged today to bind the things of God to our hearts, and go where he calls us to go?  

Today, let’s choose to believe God for his vision and plan for all of us, from the youngest to the oldest.  

God is who he says he is, and he can do what he says he can – and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
