A school that started out with just 65 students and three staff, in 1955, has
grown to a school of over 300 students and 44 staff.
By 2007, John Knox Christian School in Burnaby was filled beyond capacity.
Accordingly, a campaign to rebuild the school was launched. In the first year
of the campaign, $1 million was raised.
From September to December 2008, the current property was expanded, and the
ground clearing began. Last April, the John Knox community, along with many of the people whose dedication had led
to the opening of the school, watched as the building was torn down – and then watched with joy as new walls began to be raised in its place.
This spring, John Knox will be home again, in a beautiful two and a half storey,
45,000 square foot building.
In light of this great gift, the prayer on the hearts of the John Knox community
is that they will be even more faithful to God’s call.
