PHASE II website coming!
More Than Gold is eagerly anticipating an April 12
launch date for Phase II of the website. Significant new features will help
to maintain momentum, and organize individuals and churches with the many
opportunity areas (Working Groups) afforded by the Olympics.
This site will employ Google maps and a master
calendar of upcoming MTG events. Each of the six specific areas of
opportunity will have its own web page and become the central place for
each working group to communicate and oversee their area. The six
specific areas are:
Creative Arts & Performance Mission
Teams Hospitality Social Issues Sports Homestay
Training opportunities
The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team will be holding
training events: April 17 – 18 at Sevenoaks Alliance, Abbotsford & May 15 – 16 at Tenth Church,
Vancouver. (cost $50, includes meals). This equips Christians to respond to
crises – how to listen, help and pray with victims. www.billygraham.ca/rapidresponse
Staff changes
The staff is undergoing some changes, with the
departure of Jack O’Halloran and the appointment of Peter
Biggs (who will continue part-time with
Christian Info Society) as director of networking. Bob Kraemer remains director of
operations, and Katie Cave is MTG’s admin assistant. Ken
Anderson, seconded from Billy Graham
Evangelistic Association, leads training for evangelism. Karen Reed heads the MTG team as
CEO.
