Nazarenes helping
Nazarene churches on Vancouver Island are reaching out in a variety of ways to
help meet physical, medical and housing needs of people in other countries.
Many of those needs are being supported through First Church of the Nazarene’s Victoria Nazarene Resource Centre. They are looking for such items as used
computers, medical supplies and equipment, clothing in good condition,
furniture, beddings – and more.
The Nanaimo church is encouraging its members who have such items to take them
to Victoria, and also help load containers.
Those containers are sent to hospitals in various countries. Organizers also
arrange shipments of bandages made from bedsheets, from various donors. Info:

Oak Bay Easter egg hunt
An Easter Egg Hunt, for children aged 2 – 10, was part of the Easter celebration this year at Providence Community Church,
a Presbyterian congregation meeting in Oak Bay Village.
The fun was scheduled to start at 10 am April 3, and included face-painting,
refreshments – and lots of eggs, presumably planted by a Christian equivalent of the Easter
Bunny.
The event was planned for Windsor Park, just west of the Oak Bay Marina – come rain or shine.
