NAVIGATING the complexities of marriage is not for weak
warriors. Some Christian couples suffer in silence, not wanting to admit
failure, or their loss of passion for each other.
ACTS Seminaries of Trinity Western University (TWU) is
addressing these problems by bringing award-winning American author Gary
Thomas as the keynote speaker at its annual Smarter Families Canada
conference.
His recent best seller,Sacred
Marriage, has sold more than 300,000 copies. It
is subtitled: ‘What If God Designed Marriage to Make Us Holy More
Than to Make Us Happy?’
Thomas will speak on several themes: ‘Helping
couples see marriage through God’s eyes’; ‘Helping
couples build a sacred history’; and the concept of ‘Sexuality
and Holiness in Marriage,’ featured in a workshop entitled
‘Sexual Saints.’
In addition to Thomas’ presentations, the two-day
conference will also offer in-depth workshops on, ‘Building an
Affair-Resistant Marriage,’ ‘Handle the Heat Without Getting
Burned in Your Relationship,’ ‘How to Run Pornography Recovery
Groups,’ and a seminar on ‘Marriage Bootcamps.’
Smarter Families Canada takes place May 8
– 9 at the North West Building, located at TWU. Contact:
