ONE of B.C.’s most colourful politicians has taken up the cause for disgruntled taxpayers.
Former premier Bill Vander Zalm is leading the charge in B.C. against the harmonized sales tax (HST), which is due to take effect July 1.
He launched an official petition against the tax April 6; the campaign is online at fighthst.com.
Vander Zalm has also looked back on his political career, releasing his autobiography in 2008. In Bill Vander Zalm For the People, he addresses his faith in the context of his stand on abortion, stating:
