THIS reporter spent part of Victoria Day taking in the humongous parade for which B.C.’s capital is so noted, and spotted several groups with distinctly Christian motifs.

The MEI Screaming Eagles marching band was on hand. Lighthouse Christian Academy from Colwood had, of all things, a lighthouse float. Super Kids provided an excellent singing effort, as did Glad Tidings Church.

Historic St. Luke’s Church had a float with a mini-replica of its landmark grey building.

The rector, Canon Peter Parker, took advantage of the parade to meet and greet with parishioners and other friends, who were taking in the scene. It was a great way to do pastoral work, and enjoy the holiday as well.

Go to where the people are!
