NAZARETH (pictured – yes it’s his real name) has reached millions on television broadcasts as varied as Comedy Central, The 700 Club and the NBC Nightly News.

A so-called ‘clean comic,’ he was born in Israel, and lived in Kuwait. The 300-member Christian Comedy Association voted him its president.

He will be appearing locally this month in the clean-cut comedy act Bananas, along with fellow funnyman Steve Geyer.

Since the age of three, Nazareth has been filled with a sort of comedic aspect.

Whether entertaining his family or an entire Hollywood audience, he has always prided himself not only on being funny, but also on sending out an inspiring message to anyone attending.

Nazareth came to America at age 19. He began working the Hollywood club comedy scene to make money and keep his passion alive, but he was determined to get comedy into the church in any way he could.

Performing with Nazareth is Steve Geyer, who has been working the comedy circuit for more than 20 years and is a regular speaker at Christian events. Geyer has opened for comedians such as Sinbad and Billy Crystal.

Bananas will be in Abbotsford June 15 and in Surrey June 16.

Admission is $5, with tickets available at Christian bookstores or at: www.ticketwindow.ca
