OSCAR nominee Abigail Breslin, known for her quirky character in Little Miss Sunshine, will show a more serious side of herself in Kit Kittredge –  An American Girl.

Breslin’s character Kit is a young girl trying to survive the 1930s Depression and at the same time uncover a mystery that will ultimately save her family.

Kit’s life is turned upside down when her father loses his car dealership and must leave her and her mother.

Amidst her father’s departure a crime spree brushes over Kit’s town and leaves them at the mercy of the robber. With the help of friends and family Kit is able to uncover and solve the mystery of the Cincinnati robberies and save her family.

This is the first feature film of Mattel’s popular American Girl collection to come to the big screen.

The American Girl collection features historical dolls, magazines, accessories and books. With each girl comes a unique adventure.

Kit Kittrredge comes to theatres June 20.
