SUMMER is a time to enjoy warm weather, and relax. It is also a time to take advantage of the remarkable range of world class music on our door-step.

BCCN has gathered information on a number of summer music options. Some are explicitly Christian; others reflect a variety of cultural or historical expressions. Why not widen your horizons!

• Vancouver Folk Music Festival   July 18 – 20

Geared for the entire family, this year’s festival will feature traditional and contemporary folk, along with roots and world music from around the globe. There is also a free children’s tent, with  various games and activities, face painting, craft station and a ‘waterworks.’ Over 40 performers are featured on three stages over the three days. The Sojourners will host the Sunday morning ‘Higher Ground’ workshop, which some years feels like a particularly joyous church service and, on a really good year, like a revival meeting.                  thefestival.bc.ca
