Rwanda Mosaic
Mosaic is an Evangel Church project, initiated by musicians in the congregation. The CD
features their varied talents and is available for $20 at the Evangel media
desk or church office. Proceeds are going to equipment purchases for Mission
Rwanda. One of the church’s musicians, Marty Mittelstaedt, will be moving to Rwanda with his family for
three years. He and his wife hope to raise the remaining funds by the end of
August. Info at evangelbc.org or 250.762.0682.
Millennium awardee
Students and faculty at Penticton Christian School are celebrating one of their
own, Joshua Stevens, who has been awarded a Canadian Millennium Scholarship
Foundation grant valued at $4,500.
Karl Boehmer, school principal, says the school experienced its largest ever
grad class – with a total of six students, including Stevens, donning mortar boards. The
ceremony took place June 8 at New Beginnings Church in Penticton.
Burch farewell
Willow Park Church said farewell in June to their senior pastor, Mark Burch and
his wife Karolyn, who have served the church for the 14 years they’ve been in Kelowna. The couple’s first order of business is a sabbatical.
Burch notes, on the church website, that he and Karolyn, who have “three great kids,” are approaching the “empty nest” stage – and wonder where the time has gone.
BCCN’s sources indicate there are a number of upcoming significant changes in staff
at several Kelowna area churches. We will endeavour to keep you posted.

Ark adventure
Also at Willow Park, young teens are gearing up for The Ark, a summer houseboat
adventure which results, each year, in several young people coming to Christ.
Pastor Joel at the church has more info, at 250.765.6622.
Student effect
Do you want to read a little parable about education and its effects (both
positive and negative) on the life of a person who – depending on how you define it – becomes a perpetual student, or is engaged in lifelong learning?
Check pastor Henry Devries’ blog on www.sahalifellowship.com, the website of Sahali Fellowship, the
Christian Reformed church in Kamloops.
