THE executive director of Mission Possible has undertaken a commitment with Fit
Body Boot Camp – to burn the fat, and help the homeless of the Downtown Eastside.
Brian Postlewait, was looking for a way to improve his health – and potentially raise money for Mission Possible at the same time.
Jonathan Lerner, owner and instructor of Fit Body Boot Camp, sat down with him
and devised a program to do just that.
They came up with the ‘Burn the Fat Help the Homeless Shrink-A-Thon.’
Postlewait would participate in the boot camp classes, and together they would raise money for every pound he lost.
Currently Postlewait’s pledge total is $103 per pound and he has lost 16 pounds. That makes a total
of $1,648 raised so far.

“The current economic state and other world disasters has drastically reduced the
amount of donations being made to local charities and non-profit organizations – and we’ve forgotten the problems that are still right here in our own backyard,” said Postlewait. “We are raising awareness about homelessness while also raising funds for much
needed programs.”
“We’ve developed a fun and social way to introduce an alternative to the boring gym
workouts and at the same time help a charity to feed and assist those on the
streets in the downtown East side,” explained Lerner.
