Councillor’s charge revealed

Tim Stevenson, a city councillor and United Church minister, pleaded guilty in court to charges of drinking and driving  July 16, having kept the incident secret for over a year. He told the court he had consumed three and a half pints over two or three hours, before driving 10 blocks to his home. He was fined $690 and has had his license suspended for a year. He is reported to have said that it was a “judgment” problem and not a drinking problem.                              Vancouver Sun
