The Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB) has signed a new five-year agreement with the Canadian International Development Agency – worth $20 million per year.

CFGB also recently welcomed two major new member agencies, bringing to 15 the number of church-based agencies engaged in their mission to end hunger.

The new members are the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace, and the Primate’s World Relief & Development Fund of the Anglican Church of Canada.

With this landmark decision, the membership of CFGB has grown to represent almost all Christian denominations in Canada.

Member agencies represent evangelical churches, mainline protestant churches, as well as catholic churches.

All told, more than 17,000 congregations and parishes are now connected to this ecumenical effort to combat hunger in developing countries.                     foodgrainsbank.ca
