THE Jesus film recently hit a major milestone. The most
translated film of all time is now available in 1,000 languages.
Lanka Kol is “a language many Canadians have
probably never heard of,” says Jack Robertson, national director of
The Jesus Film Project, Canada. “There are more than one million
people in India who speak Lanka Kol – and now we have the opportunity
to begin sharing the gospel story with them in their own language.”
|
The modestly produced 1979 film, he maintains,
“has become one of, if not the most, effective tool for evangelism
ever created.”
The ministry hopes to translate the film into an
additional 500 languages – including every tongue with more than
100,000 speakers. Contact: jesusfilm.ca.
