FOUR decades ago, noted Florida pastor D. James Kennedy was searching for a way
to help others share their faith with people in their personal world.
The result became known as Evangelism Explosion (EE). It was a tool that helped
millions of people to communicate God’s good news with others.
According to Wikipedia, EE “emphasizes the training of church laypeople to share their faith by home
visitation in the community.”
As the times and the culture have changed, the ways to communicate faith in
Jesus have needed to change.
A global team led by believers in Australia has reworked the EE approach, and
dubbed it XEE – referring to leaders in Generations X and Y. With tools to help all Christians
grow in their understanding, XEE is being launched globally to reinvigorate the
church in its mission for this era.
The ministry’s new website states:
“We live in a world where many of our friends don’t understand the incredible worth of a relationship with God. They are
struggling to find purpose in life – and yet, we hold the key to having what they feel they are lacking.
“God’s word (I Peter 3:15) tells us to be prepared to give a reason for the hope that
is within us. XEE aims to help you do just that.”
Through XEE, people are helped to become the type of witnesses that Christ
intends for us all to be. XEE trains people to really connect with those around
them and build stronger relationships.
Using this platform, it’s easier for someone to share the Good News simply and confidently.
