VANCOUVER will host two prominent acts who fall into the category of ‘musicians who are Christians’ rather than ‘Christian musicians’ this month.
Anberlin, hailing from Florida have steadily grown in popularity since their formation in
2002. Promoting their fifth studio album Dark is the Way, Light is a Place – which debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 charts – they’ll be at the Vogue Theatre October 16.
In an interview with Smartpunk, drummer Nathan Young commented, “The thing is, some bands that are trying to get out of the Christian market,
they get bummed out by questions about it.
“I don’t really mind it, because I’m a Christian, and I’m okay talking about it. With the whole term ‘Christian band,’ I don’t understand how a band can be Christian. We get the question, “Is Anberlin a Christian band?” and it’s like, yeah, Anberlin is – as humans"

Quirky singer/songwriter Sufjan Stevens will appear at the Orpheum Theatre October 28.
Prolific and keen to experiment, his CDs include Michigan and Illinois, the first in a projected 50-state set – now, apparently being reconsidered! And he pumped out a five-CD Christmas box
set in 2006.
Stevens rarely talks about faith in public. However, his work clearly reflects
his Christian foundation.
This fall he has released All Delighted People EP, and a full length album, The Age of Adz. – PB
