Be healthy, don’t worry
WHILE traveling extensively in Africa and Europe, Bishop Bonnie Etta met many
poor people who had smiling faces and were celebrating life, seemingly without
a worry.
He concluded that, in a world of political and economic instability, the rich
may live more stressful lives than the poor and that wealth provides no
solutions to social and moral depravity, which often lead to stress.
He stated, “There is no level of life or achievement that will guarantee a stress-free life;
there is no economic situation or political system that can guarantee happiness
and true inner freedom. You choose to live the quality of life you want by
yielding to stress or by yielding to the Holy Spirit.”
From Stress Free Life (Holy Fire Publishing, 2010).

Twenty percent of Canadian adults (slightly more women than men) say they feel
perpetually caught in a time crunch.
It’s not that they are working longer hours – the number of people working more than 50 hours a week declined between 1996
and 2009 – but that because society operates 24 hours a day, more people are working odd
hours – weekends, nights and rotating shifts. The result is a number of adverse
effects, including health problems and burnout.
From a study released last summer by the Canadian Index of Wellbeing called ‘Caught in the Time Crunch: Time Use, Leisure and Culture in Canada.’
Spa, not spam
Silver Hills Spa Cuisine: Modern Vegan Recipes is a new cookbook compiled by chefs Eileen Brewer and Cecile Gordon, based on
meals served at the Silver Hills health resort and spa in Lumby, in the
interior of B.C.
The spa was founded by Eileen and her husband Phil, a Seventh Day Adventist
couple. The spa offers five or 12 day health retreats that teach the eight
natural ways to good health: exercise, water, breathing, good food, sunlight,
rest, self-discipline and trusting in a divine power.
