WESTBANK seniors had cause to celebrate October 3, as Village at Smith Creek held its grand opening.

The Orlin Road facility is dedicated to providing a safe environment for seniors.

It is owned and operated by Baptist Housing Enhanced Living Communities, a member of Baptist Housing Ministries – which is a group of societies in B.C. serving the needs of seniors.

Village at Smith Creek offers supportive housing and assisted living services. Resident services include meals, housekeeping and linen services, 24-hour emergency response, personal care services, social and recreational opportunities, and full-time professional care.

The facility is located close to numerous amenities and services for seniors, such as shopping, banking and medical services. The Village also offers community adult day care and a bathing program.

Over the past year, several specialized units were incorporated into the facility, including: 28 private market supportive housing suites; 22 assisted living suites, funded by Interior Health and B.C. Housing; and 50 Interior Health Authority funded residential care units.

Altogether, the facility now has 188 residential units.
