THE One Life Experience (pictured
at left), sponsored by World Vision, has occupied some 2,000 square feet of
the Metrotown Mall in Burnaby since February 19.
The exhibit is described as ‘an interactive
village’ designed to present ‘the heart of Africa’ to the
spectator.
The purpose is to have an emotional impact which will
hopefully move the viewer to action: “Through a captivating audio
tour and powerful imagery, you will experience the impact of HIV and AIDS
by stepping into the life of a real child.”
At press time, it was scheduled to run until March 1,
11 am to 6 pm, at Metropolis, Metrotown, Grand Court, Burnaby.
World Vision Canada is also sponsoring The Responding Church Leaders Forum. The main focus of the initiative is ‘The Face of Poverty in
Canada.’
The organization recently announced it “has just
completed an extensive national study that lifts the veil on poverty in
Canada. Join your colleagues to hear the latest national and local
statistics on poverty, network with leaders . . . and find ways for your
church to be more engaged.”
The forum will be in Vancouver March 31, 10 am –
12:30 pm, Holiday Inn Express, 2889 East Hastings Street.
