ONE ‘Working Group’ critical to the More Than Gold network is Prayer. This group has undertaken a
number of initiatives, including organized intentional ‘Prayer Walks’ at locations central to the upcoming games.
In August last year they prayed around GM Place and BC Place. December saw them

The next Prayer Walk is June 13 in Whistler and Squamish, with participants meeting at 10 am at The
Church on 99 in Squamish (www.churchon99.ca).
Future gatherings include Cypress Mountain July 18; ‘The Cry,’ a day of fasting and prayer August 15; and a prayer focus on the Downtown
Eastside September 12.
MTG is also partnering with Hope Vancouver’s ‘Canada Ablaze’ – 106 days of prayer in communities across Canada following the path of the
Olympic torch (October 30 – February 12).
The Working Group is headed by David Carson (above), associate pastor at Central
