IN A series of five May regional dessert and music evenings, members of the MTG team presented the opportunities for local churches to get involved. Attendees from a remarkably wide cross-section of churches are enthusiastically planning for Games-related initiatives.

For example: Peace Portal Alliance Church is planning a gold medal hockey game large-screen event and inviting all local kids’ hockey coaches. The church has also planned an Alpha course promo after the games.

Peter Biggs, director of networking for MTG, was enthusiastic about the evenings: “The palpable sense of God’s presence in these evenings – in a room filled with Baptists, Lutherans, Seventh-day Adventists, Roman Catholics, etc., all worshipping, laughing and sharing together – was something I have never before experienced.  It was a joy to connect and collaborate like that!”
