THE PLATINUM-selling Jonas Brothers will appear in Vancouver at GM Place, June 29 – 30.
In just three short years Nick (16), Joe (19) and Kevin (21) have played
concerts for millions, been nominated for a Grammy, performed at the White
House – and last year, held three simultaneous top 10 spots in the Billboard charts.
The phenomenon started out with Christian label INO Records in 2004, when Nick
released ‘Dear God’ and ‘Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)’ to Christian radio.
The brothers’ debut album, It’s About Time, was released in 2006.
The Jonas Brothers grew up in New Jersey as pastor’s kids; their father, who helped start Christ For the Nations Music, is now his
sons’ manager. Their family and faith evidently keep them grounded in the whirlwind
of screaming fans, Hollywood red carpet movie premieres and endless interviews.
Although their lyrics do not overtly declare their faith, it is their lifestyle
and moral choices that are making headlines.
Many media outlets over the past year have focused on the brothers’ purity rings – and in some cases, mocked their open discussions of saving themselves for
marriage. With so many pop/rock artists choosing provocative lyrics and
clothing, it’s a breath of fresh air to see some positive role models gracing the cover of Rolling Stone.
